Terry Armstrong Thompson ’57

box_thompson_terry.jpgTerry Armstrong Thompson ’57 was honored with an Outstanding Woman Award by the Somerset County [N.J.] Commission on the Status of Women. The annual award recognizes the contributions of women living in the county as part of the celebration of Women’s History Month in March. Thompson received the award in the “Hometown Hero” category for her longstanding, committed participation in the town life of Bernardsville, N.J. Her activities in the town include membership on the Bernardsville Planning Board and the library board of trustees; previously she was a member of the Bernardsville Environmental Commission. Thompson is also actively involved in Friends of the Shelter, which supports survivors of domestic violence, and has been a member of the League of Women Voters for more than 50 years. Before retiring, Thompson was corporate counsel for Lucent Technologies, now Alcatel–Lucent.
