Robert Bergner ’46Robert Bergner ’46, a decorated retired naval aviator, died peacefully July 15, 2016, in Easton, Md. He was 91. Bob attended Swarthmore, received his B.A. in economics from American University, earned a master’s in international affairs from George Washington University, and completed Naval War College. He was awarded the Air Medal with two stars, the Navy Commendation Medal with the Combat V, and the Korean Service Medal with three stars. Bob served as commanding officer of Attack Squadron 152 (VA-152) and commanding officer of the USS Yancey (AKA-93). After his naval service, Bob joined Equitable Life Assurance. Read more.
