Thomas Samuel ’94


Thomas Samuel ’94 has been recognized by the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) with the Outstanding Young Clinical Science Faculty Award, which is sponsored by the faculty senate, and the MCG School of Medicine Exemplary Teaching Award for Resident Education. Samuel is an assistant professor in the hemotology/oncology section of the school, teaching courses on breast cancer and developmental therapeutics. As director of the MCG Clinical Breast Cancer Program, Samuel’s clinical interests include palliative care and cancer pain management. His research focuses on phase 1 through 3 cancer drug development and racial disparities in breast cancer care. Samuel earned his medical degree at State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine and did his residency training in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
