Lisa Ginsburg ’97 was recently honored with the prestigious Zella Bronfman Butler Award for extraordinary community service achievements by the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) Federation of New York. The award, including a $10,000 cash gift, honors UJA agency professionals who exemplify the highest standards of service. Ginsburg, who was chosen for her compassionate commitment to enriching the lives of children with disabilities, is associate executive director of Ramapo for Children in New York City. She initiated the program to expand the successful model used at the Ramapo Camp in Rhinebeck, N.Y., for children with special needs so that more children could benefit from their expertise. Ginsburg has designed unique training programs for educators and others who serve children with autism and other special needs, supervises trainers, trains teachers, and consults at the camp. An experiential education specialist, Ginsburg is certified in adventure-based counseling and life-space crisis intervention and is a graduate of the Institute for Non-Profit Management at Columbia University.
