Charles “C.J.” Riley ’01

WEBriley.jpgCharles “C.J.” Riley ’01 received the 2012 American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) ExCEED New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award from the Oregon Institute of Technology. Riley, an assistant professor, was selected from the large pool of highly qualified candidates. Sean St. Clair, chair of the department of civil engineering, said, “Dr. Riley loves civil engineering, and he loves to ignite a similar passion and devotion in his students. He is an essential member of the civil engineering department at Oregon Tech, and he would be impossible to replace. His passion is infectious, and his enthusiasm inspiring.” The award was established by ASCE’s ExCEED (Excellence in Civil Engineering Education) and the ASCE Committee on Faculty Development to recognize and reward outstanding new faculty who have taught full time for five years or fewer.
