David Denhardt ’60Dave, a molecular and cellular biologist, died June 27, 2020. A chemistry major at Swarthmore, Dave earned his doctorate in biophysics from Caltech. His passion was for a better understanding of the fundamentals of human biology through cellular and molecular biology, and genetics, which he believed would aid in the fight against diseases like cancer. Among his proudest accomplishments was his study of the osteopontin gene, discovered by his team at Western University in Ontario. Read more.
